hey there!
I'm Barbara
I'm an author, speaker, and a daughter caring for my 90-year-old mom with Alzheimer's, who lives with us. I'm also a wife and mom to three teenagers. So I know exactly what it feels like to be pulled in a thousand directions at once.

When my mom's needs began to change, I searched for a clear road map and couldn't find one. So I spent years figuring it out the hard way, and then I wrote down everything I wish someone had told me. That became When Roles Reverse: Road Map for Caring for Aging Parents

This book is for every adult child who is overwhelmed, confused, and trying to figure it out alone. You don't have to. I've been there and I'll walk you through it.
I wrote the guide I desperately needed

Words from families like yours
Barbara’s book is such a valuable resource for anyone caught in the balancing act of caring for aging parents while raising kids, the so-called ‘sandwich generation.’ As a wealth management advisor, I see every day how these family dynamics can stretch not just time and energy, but retirement and estate plans too, plans that often weren’t built for so many competing priorities.

What I love about this book is that it doesn’t just touch on the personal and emotional side, it also shines a light on the everyday personal and financial challenges families face when supporting multiple generations. For other advisors, it’s a great reminder of what our clients really go through, helping us guide them with more understanding and better solutions and empathy. For families, it’s an encouraging guide that shows they’re not alone — and that with the right planning, they can protect what they’ve worked so hard for.

Start Before You "Have To"
If anyone wants to know what to do and expect taking care of elderly family, look no further! I was suddenly thrust into taking care of elderly loved ones following an awful cancer. My story is not unique. With no guidance I was thrust into physically, emotionally and financially managing two elderly parents lives over night, and working, and have a family of my own. THANK GOD Barbara wrote this book. I needed it sooo badly. It actually does have everything you need in it. Also, it’s a quick read, has checklists etc. This book could not be better thought out for the exact person who needs it. It also has tips from the trenches that made all the difference for both the elderly, and the caring adult family to stay healthy and happy. Get yourself, or even better, others, this fantastic book. It saves lives and guides you safely through very turbulent waters.
